As we enter into the new year, we wanted to introduce you to our entire CMMP team from our Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta showrooms. We sat down with each member of the team and asked them a few questions about life, CMMP, and menswear. Read on to hear the first story on Rafiel (Raf) Sender, our Atlanta Showroom Manager.
CMMP: How did you get your start in the world of menswear or fashion?
Raf: I’ve always had my own personal style since high school that differed and stood out from the crowd. My look consisted of a combination of diy high fashion/ couture inspired pieces, which created my own unique style. At the age of 16 I started working at a streetwear & sneaker store called Jimmy Jazz, which funded my addiction for buying new pieces for my wardrobe.
CMMP: Who is your favorite designer and why?
Raf: Raf Simons (coincidentally) because of the way he mixes innovative designs with classical silhouettes, all while keeping tailoring the core focus of the garments.
CMMP: Do you have any favorite things to do outside of work, hobbies, etc.?
Raf: I’m a big reader. I often find myself diving into rabbit holes exploring different philosophies and theories through books.
CMMP: Favorite garment you have created for CMMP?
Raf: My favorite pieces that I have created with CMMP has to be the Solbiati Peacots in a beautiful silk and wool fabric. The coats are statement pieces and a must have in any men's wardrobe.
CMMP: Thoughts on the future of the brand or menswear in general.
Raf: I feel a new generation of tailored and forward thinking garments will be the future of menswear. Menswear will start to offer more styles and fits compared to the traditional basics that are usually offered.
