On 11/9, Commonwealth Proper hosted Soho House members and potential members for a first taste of CMMP's new whiskey, Barrel Select. It was catered by Di Bruno Brothers, live Cello by Aijee Evans, Photographed by Alan Daher, and featuring a full bar by Dynamic Beverage as well as a whiskey tasting of the limited edition American Single Malt Whiskey, Barrel Select. Since 2008, Commonwealth Proper ("CMMP") has created custom American-made clothing for the next generation of movers and shakers. The brand offers tailored suits, blazers, shirts, jeans, knitwear and outerwear - all under its own label. As part of the personalized private experience CMMP provides to its clients during custom fittings, CMMP has regularly offered exclusive tastings of some of whiskey's most sought after brands.
Last year, CMMP embarked on the mission to create its own house label whiskey, and partnered with a local Pennsylvania-based distiller to create a unique, distinctly American spirit. The result was "Barrel Select," CMMP's very own American Single Malt Whiskey. The whiskey is aged 100% malted barley in a medium char American White Oak barrel. Each bottle is hand-marked with its own unique barrel and bottle number. The first 90-proof batch contains hints of citrus, vanilla and chocolate, with a smooth and a rich finish.
