It’s been a long-time coming, but we’ve finally developed a Pea Coat worthy of the CMMP label. Originally worn by sailors of European and then later American navies, the term derives from the Dutch word “pij” which was used to describe a coat of coarse woollen fabric from the 16th century when the Dutch ruled the seas. We started with high-quality lightweight wool twill from England. We set a 6x2 button stance on the front with additional buttons under the lapel to act as a throat latch for when the wind gusts. It’s warm like a traditional pea coat but light enough to navigate the city streets with ease. And it will lend effortless elegance to your wardrobe.
